Urban Transformation Projects
Urban transformation is defined as the improvement, clearance, and renewal of areas under disaster risk, as well as land and plots containing risky structures outside these areas, to create healthy and safe living environments in compliance with engineering and artistic norms and standards. The concept of urban transformation in Turkey and Turkish law began to be used with the Law No. 6306 on the Transformation of Areas under Disaster Risk, dated 16/5/2012.
Urban transformation, which incorporates solutions to many problems brought about by urbanization and city development, has turned into a concept that must be addressed legally, especially with the increasing number of urban transformation problems and lawsuits in recent times.
